Living Your LIfe At Holly Lea

A Considered Choice

‘Care’ is a very important word for us at Holly Lea. You’ll notice the meticulous care we take of the grounds and your surroundings. But also the care that has been taken in choosing the furnishings and décor that combine the fresh, clean and modern with the ultimate in comfort, quality and practicality.

However obviously the most important care of all is how we take care of you should you ever require it. At Holly Lea we offer you residential care up to hospital level. While you will be surrounded by traditional comforts and little luxuries, behind the scenes Holly Lea offers the latest facilities and services available in modern day aged-care.

This can start with the thoughtfulness that has gone in to the layout and design of our residences but continues right through the training and expertise of our team who provide support and assistance right through to hospital-level care.

This is where things get personal – and personalised. We have discovered that many people reaching an age where they are considering a move to a retirement village are reluctant to be channelled through a rigid set of rules, and depart from ones lifetime joys and routines.

This is where Holly Lea is different. Special care is taken to support your lifestyle through a personalised approach and attention to detail. We can simply add additional services, facilities and care as might be required as your circumstances change. It’s your choice.

If you need extra assistance day to day, you can enjoy the comfort and reassurance of knowing that you have access at any time to a choice of personalised and flexible services, should the need arise.

Whether it’s a few hours a week or full time care, a wide range of domestic and personal care services can be tailored to your specific needs. This could include but not be limited to housekeeping, meals, shopping errands, medication reminders and personal care assistance.

HOLLY LEA CARE CENTRE

The beautifully appointed care suites are designed with a residential underscore and each feature a private ensuite. The elegant custom cabinetry has been created for resident’s personal treasures, allowing each resident to create their own homely and private space.

All suites boast a 55 inch television for resident enjoyment. An elegant and purposeful bed is complemented by a reversible coverlet affording personal choice and a sense of home. The window treatments have both fabric drapes to soften the room; as well as sun sheers to provide residents the flexibility with light and privacy. The lounges and living rooms within the Care Centre boast an abundance of natural light and greenery from both the surrounding gardens and the garden atrium. The home-styled kitchen with dining suite provides residents with a space to engage - whether it be to converse or participate in a small group activity. The adjacent atrium provides a unique aspect, affording natural light which is both tranquil and uplifting.

There is attention to detail and quality throughout, whether it be the warmth of timber wall claddings, the stone clad fireplaces, or the decoration with plush materials, wall papers and fresh flowers – they all provide a sense of both luxury and interest.

The Care Centre layout has been designed to enable flexibility of use with an interconnecting flow, providing both intimate and social areas for residents to engage as they choose. The Care Centre offers regular resident activities aligned to the needs and desires of our residents. It also offers a dedicated Beauty and Hair Studio for residents convenience.

Rendever

Rendever is a groundbreaking virtual reality [VR] platform specifically designed for senior living to increase the feeling of "thriving" within a community, fostering personal connections and delivering new experiences.

Residents can revisit meaningful places, share stories, stay engaged with family members and experience unforgettable moments. The VR experience is incredibly powerful, particularly among older adults experiencing cognitive decline, impaired vision or mobility restrictions. International research has strongly demonstrated Rendevers positive impact on mental health with a significant decrease in social isolation and depression scores.

Generus Living Group is the first to introduce Rendever in New Zealand in all of its Care Centres.

Pet Therapy

Pet Therapy forms part of our regular activities calendar which allows residents to interact with furry friends.

Animal assisted therapy has been shown to have hugely positive results both in terms of reducing physical symptoms and in improving mental health in patients. Spending time with animals can lead to improvements in anxiety, depression and pain for people suffering from a variety of health issues.

The Pet Therapy sessions are held in partnership with St John’s Pet Therapy programme.

Tovertafel

Tovertafel is an innovative tool to support cognitive decline. Also known as the magic table - designed to be beneficial for those with mid to late-stage dementia, residents interact with the animated lights, using their hands to play games such as jigsaws and memory games, which improves engagement; interaction; physical, social and cognitive activity; along with self-esteem and confidence.

Nordic Relaxing Chair

Wellness Nordic Relax Chair provides a further tool to address the individual care needs of our residents. The fully automated Wellness Nordic Relax Chair combines music, tactile stimulation and a rocking motion to offer a unique and calming multi-sensory experience.
